Mandarin Language Summer Camp
New for 2008! Students in grades 6-12 from around New England will now be offered a Mandarin Language Summer Camp led by experienced Chinese language instructors and held on the beautiful Boston Harbor Campus of the University of Massachusetts Boston.The Program
Students, are you interested in learning how to communicate, and communicate better, in Chinese? Are you curious about the many mysteries of the Chinese culture? Maybe you’d like to learn Tai Chi to exercise your mind and body? Or perhaps you are ready to boost your language skills to improve future career prospects? If any of these questions can be answered YES!, then consider applying for Mandarin Summer Camp at the University of Massachusetts Boston!Offered in three skill levels of Chinese (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced), this program is specially designed to promote an integration of the cultural/historical background of the language with the acquisition of technical skills and confidence to communicate with native speakers of Chinese.
This course is designed for non-native speakers of Mandarin.
Housing
The Mandarin Language Summer Camp is a non-residential program. A limited number of rooms have been reserved at a nearby university for those students requiring accommodations. Students and their families will be responsible for housing expenses.Fee
The University of Massachusetts Confucius Institute at UMass Boston, and the China Program Center, with sponsorship from the STARTALK project, are offering this program for $50 to students selected for the program. The fee is required upon acceptance into the program.
