Master in Counseling

The Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education at UMass Boston is proud to offer the Master of Science in Counseling in: Family Therapy, Mental Health or Rehabilitation and the Master of Education in Counseling in School Counseling.

Master of Science in Family Therapy

The MS program prepares its graduates to a vision of strengthening healthy families. The courses lead students to view families as entities within larger social systems and promote collaborative, inclusive, and integrative systems approaches.

Master of Science in Mental Health

It is a 60-credit master’s which meets the academic requirements for licensure in the state of Massachusetts as a Mental Health Counselor (there are additional post graduate clinical experience requirements for licensure).

Master of Science in Rehabilitation

It is a 60 credit master’s which meets the academic requirements for national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. The Program is nationally accredited through the Council On Rehabilitation Education.

Master of Education in School Counseling

It is a 60-credit master’s which meets the academic requirements for certification in the state of Massachusetts as a School Counselor.
