How to Register

Returning Students

If you are a matriculated UMass Boston student or have taken UMass Boston courses before, please use the WISER online self-service registration system.

Note for Fall and Spring Students: Matriculated UMass Boston students may be unable to use the WISER system to register for CCDE courses outside of their appointment period. In this instance, either use the shopping cart (see "Online Registration" under "New Students" below) or visit the One Stop Student Service Center, where registration staff can override the appointment date restriction.

New Students

If you are taking a UMass Boston course for the first time, you can use any of the following methods to register:

Online Registration
Students registering for the first time can submit their registration online using CCDE’s Shopping Cart System. Simply, click the "Add Course" button found to the right of each individual course listing. Learn more about registering via our Shopping Cart.

When your registration is processed, you will be given a user ID and password which you can then use to access WISER for future transactions.

Fax
You may fax your registration to (617) 287-7902. Download registration form

Mail
Registrations must be postmarked by the registration deadline for the applicable session. Registrations postmarked after the Late Registration Date will be assessed a $25 late fee. For more info on deadlines, See Academic Calendar. Download registration form.

Walk-in
You may register in person at the One Stop Student Service Center, Campus Center, Upper Level. The One Stop is open Monday - Thursday, 8:30a - 6p and Friday, 10a - 4p. Additionally, CCDE offer "Extended hours" during the Fall and Spring registration periods. See Extended Hours.

By Permission of Instructor and/or Department
Some courses require special permission to register. These courses are appropriately marked within our website and printed bulletin. Please note that generally following the start of a course, permission of instructor is required in order to register until the Add/Drop deadline of that particular session. No registrations will be accepted after the Add/Drop Deadline.
